In the Actor panel you can select, edit, add and delete actors. The actors entered here can be used to defined the actor(s) playing in a film.

In order to rapidly go to this panel, just press F10.

You will need to select an actor when you are either registering a new film, editing an existing film or searching for a film based on the actor dimension. To select an actor do as follows:

• Click on Select in order to enter into select modus. The text field turns to white. This is the default modus.

 

• Enter a text into one of the Search Fields. Only actors whose first or last name contains the entered text will be displayed. To search for a specific First Name, enter a text into the First Search Field. To search for a specific Last Name, enter a text into the Second Search Field.

 

• Click on the Actor you want to select. The selected actor including its ID are now shown in the ID and Search Fields.

 

• Click OK. Fun Search goes now automatically back to the panel where the selection is needed.

An alternative and quick way to select a actor is to press the Ctrl-key followed by the ID of the given actor. For instance, the key combination Ctrl+7 will select the actor with its ID equal to 7.

Note as well that once a actor is selected, you can change to the Edit or Delete modus without losing the selected actor.

You can edit the name of an existing actor whenever you want. You may need to do so if you for instance discover a misspelling (Gerard instead of Gérard).

Regardless the reason for which you would like to edit the name of an actor, just follow the steps below:

• Click on Edit in order to enter into edit modus. The text field turns to blue.

 

• Click on the Actor you want to edit. The selected actor including its ID are now shown in the ID and Edit Fields.

 

• Enter a new first name or last Name for the selected actor into the corresponding Edit Field. To edit the First Name, enter a new text into the First Edit Field. To edit the Last Name, enter a new text into the Second Edit Field.

 

• Click OK.

Note that once an actor has been edited, all registered films that refers to the edited actor are also automatically updated.

You can enter any number of actors into Fun Search. The items you enter here will be available later to define the actor(s) playing in your films. This information represent a very useful dimension to rapidly locate films where a specific actor appears. To add a new actor do as follows:

• Click on Add in order to enter into add modus. The text field turns to green.

 

• Enter a first name and a last name for the new actor into the corresponding Edit Field. For the First Name, enter a text into the First Edit Field. For the Last Name, enter a text into the Second Edit Field.

 

• Click OK.

When a given actor is no longer needed, you may like to delete it. Even though this is an operation that is seldom needed, it helps to save space in your Film Library File. Note however that an actor can only be deleted if none of the films registered into Fun Search is refering to it. To delete an actor do as follows:

• Click on Delete in order to enter into delete modus. The text field turns to orange.

 

• Click on the Actor you want to delete. The selected actor including its ID are now shown in the ID and Edit Fields.

 

• Click OK.
